Having been in business for nearly 45 years, M&O is the oldest and longest-standing independent marketing organization (“IMO”) in the fixed annuity industry. Founded in metro-Detroit in 1976 and originally having only marketed long-term care in Michigan and Ohio (hence, “M&O”), we have since expanded to also market fixed annuities and life insurance to thousands of independent financial professionals nationwide.

Dennis began his career with Prudential in 1977, and both his talent and charisma were immediately recognized, having won the company’s Rookie of the Year honor his very first year in the business and then becoming Prudential’s youngest sales manager in the country. With a strong desire for independence, Dennis eventually broke the “golden handcuffs” of the captive insurance world to join M&O Marketing in 1987. With the direction of the original M&O principals and the mentorship of Dan Rourke, co-founder of LifeUSA and President of Allianz Life of North America, Dennis built the fixed annuity division of M&O from virtually nothing to where it is today.

It begins.

M&O Marketing is founded by John Hill in Dearborn, Michigan. Soon after, John Otto joins him, marketing Long Term Care, Life Insurance and Medicare Supplements. To this day, M&O Marketing is the oldest and longest standing IMO in the industry!

1987
Dennis Brown

Dennis Brown leaves Prudential Life Insurance to become an Independent Agent and joins M&O Marketing, soon becoming top producer. M&O Marketing incorporates a brokerage business to market annuities through a handful of companies, one of which was Life USA, presently known as Allianz Life of North America.

1993
National Western Life

M&O Marketing is one of the original marketing companies to build National Western Life into an annuity brokerage carrier.

1997
M&O purchased.

Dennis Brown and Tim Otto purchase M&O Marketing from John Hill and John Otto upon their respective retirements.

2002
M&O is growing.

M&O Marketing moves from Dearborn, MI to Southfield, MI and, with its 80,000 contracted agents, grows to become the nations' largest independent brokerage company for Long Term Care.

2006
The Annexus Group

M&O Marketing becomes one of the original founding members of The Annexus Group.

2013
CoreCap
M&O Marketing purchases broker/dealer CoreCap Investments and Registered Investment Advisor/CoreCap Advisors; -David Polus, nationally recognized life insurance and annuity producer, joins M&O Marketing in-house and creates the Masters Approach Program ("MAP").
2014
Market Synergy Group

M&O Marketing becomes one of the founding members of Marketing Synergy Group ("MSG").

2015
PR

M&O Marketing is one of the first in the industry to create an internal PR Department, offering Social Media, TV, Radio, Online, and Book Publishing. To this very day, placements are continually made in prestigious financial publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Forbes, USA Today and US News and World Report.

2016
Roop Raj
M&O Marketing contracts Roop Raj, an Emmy Award-winning television anchorman, to team up with M&O.
2018
Denise Brown

Dennis and Denise Brown purchase M&O Marketing from Tim Otto, his partner of 20 years, to become sole owners.
